Nets Sign Shaquille Harrison and James Ennis Via Hardship Exemption

While Kevin Durant continues to keep the Brooklyn Nets afloat amidst a myriad of injuries and players entering protocols, the organization continues to fill out their roster via hardship exemption, signing free-agent guard Shaquille Harrison to a 10-day contract, Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes reports.

Harrison was a training camp standout for the Philadelphia 76ers, appearing in four preseason games, averaging 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game. Once the season rolled around, Harrison was assigned to the 76ers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, where Harrison has found success on both sides of the ball, posting averages of 19.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 3.3 steals in seven games.

Harrison isn’t the only free agent to be joining the Nets this week, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported yesterday that former Orlando Magic forward James Ennis III will be signing a 10-day with Brooklyn. He averaged 8.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 24.0 minutes, shooting 43.3 percent from deep for the Magic. The 6’7 wing wasn’t resigned by Orlando after playing 41 games. This will be the eighth team he played for in his career.

With seven players in protocols as of Thursday, Durant willed the Nets to their third-straight win over the Philadelphia 76ers 114-105. After playing 39 minutes and nearly dropping a consecutive triple-double, Durant could see an increase in rest heading into the holiday break as the Nets continue to add bodies to add emergency depth.
