How to watch Raptors vs. Trail Blazers: Live stream, TV channel, start time for Sunday’s NBA game

Through 3 Quarters

The Portland Trail Blazers were expected to take an ‘L’ in this one, but so far it isn’t playing out to script. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Toronto Raptors 86-67 three quarters in.

Shooting guard CJ McCollum has led the way so far for the Trail Blazers, as he has 16 points and four assists in addition to nine rebounds. Toronto has been relying on center Chris Boucher, who has 11 points along with seven boards and two blocks, and small forward OG Anunoby, who has 11 points and four assists in addition to seven boards and two blocks. This also makes it three games in a row in which Anunoby has had at least three steals.

Toronto has lost 84% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this year, so this one seems just about wrapped up

What to Know

The Toronto Raptors haven’t won a game against the Portland Trail Blazers since Nov. 13 of 2019, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Sunday. Toronto will look to defend their home court against Portland at 6 p.m. ET. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

It was a close one, but this past Friday the Raptors sidestepped the Washington Wizards for a 109-105 win. Toronto relied on the efforts of point guard Fred VanVleet, who posted a double-double on 21 points and 12 dimes, and power forward Scottie Barnes, who had 27 points in addition to eight boards.

Speaking of close games: Rip City sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 109-105 victory over the Boston Celtics this past Friday. Portland’s center Jusuf Nurkic looked sharp as he dropped a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds along with six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Nurkic has had at least 14 rebounds.

Toronto is the favorite in this one, with an expected 8-point margin of victory. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

The Raptors are now 22-21 while the Trail Blazers sit at 19-26. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Toronto has only been able to knock down 43.60% percent of their shots, which is the fifth lowest field goal percentage in the league. Rip City has experienced some struggles of their own as they have allowed their opponents to shoot 47.60% from the floor on average, which is the highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
