Abuse on campsite
:Number of victims in Lgde rises to 31
Lugde / Bielefeld –
The number of previously known victims of serious sexual abuse at a campsite in Lgde in North Rhine-Westphalia has risen to 31. The public prosecutor’s office and the police communicated this together in Bielefeld on Monday. Among the victims were 27 girls and 4 boys between the ages of 4 and 13 years.
At a first press conference at the end of January, the investigators had come from 23 victims from North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, but had referred to a presumably high number of unreported cases. From which federal states the now newly identified victims come, a police spokeswoman did not want to say.
Police Bielefeld has taken over investigations
According to police, so far 63 indications have been received by the investigative commission “Eichwald”, named after the campsite in Lgde. The investigation has taken over the police headquarters Bielefeld as the parent authority.
On suspicion of serious sexual abuse of children and the spread of child pornography, a 56-year-old from Lgde, a 33-year-old from Steinheim (also North Rhine-Westphalia) and a 48-year-old from Stade (Lower Saxony) are in custody. (AP)
