:Thalys stops ticket sales – also DB reacts to heat

Due to the heat, travelers traveling by long-distance trains of the Deutsche Bahn can travel for a cooler day until 4 August, free of charge until Friday. That announced passenger transport board Berthold Huber on Thursday at the presentation of the semi-annual balance sheet.
According to the group, the offer also refers to tickets with economy rates and train binding. The seat reservation will be exchanged free of charge. The train wants to make travel more comfortable for railway passengers because of the high temperatures.
The operator of the European high-speed train Thalys has stopped the sale of its tickets for the time being because of the heat. “Due to severe disruptions due to the exceptional weather conditions, we are forced to discontinue sales on all our lines,” the company wrote on Twitter Thursday.
The Thalys trains are traveling between Paris and North Rhine-Westphalia, among others. Previously, Thalys had already pointed out that due to the heat to traffic obstructions between Paris and Brussels comes. “We recommend our travelers to postpone their trip scheduled for the 25th of July if possible,” it said.
