With the call “Yabba Dabba Doo!”, The cartoon character Fred Feuerstein has made a name for himself worldwide. Now the 60s series is to be reissued by a Stone Age family for television. The studio Warner Bros. Animation wants to create with the company of producer and actress Elizabeth Banks (“Pitch Perfect”) an animated comedy series for adults, reported the US industry journal “Variety” on Thursday.

The project is still in an early phase, it was said. At which station the series should run, was initially not yet experienced.

Flintstones was a worldwide hit in the 1960s

The “Flintstones” adventure by animators Joseph Barbera and William Hanna with more than 150 episodes was a big hit on US television from 1960 to 1966 and then worldwide. It was the first animated series in the evening program.

The main characters were Fred and Wilma Feuerstein and the neighbors Betty and Barney Gerllheimer along with their children. Later followed by real films, including “Flintstones – Flintstones” (1994) with John Goodman as clumsy Fred Flintstone. (AP)
