Jena –

After last two bankruptcies in series Alba Berlin is back on the road to success. The basketball players from the capital trembled but just 81:77 (42:39) victory against the last-to-last Science City Jena. This leaves the albatrosses third in the table.

Best throwers were Like Sikma with 20 and Rokas Giedraitis with 13 points. At Jena, Reggie Williams stood out with 17 points.

Alba had to give up Hermansson

Only two days after the home defeat against Bayern Munich Alba had to renounce again the injured Guard Martin Hermannsson. From the beginning, a very offensively shaped game developed. The Berlin had advantages under the basket, Jena countered especially with three-point throws – only four successful in the first quarter.

So Jena could go to the end of the first section 25:20 in the lead. Although Alba then took the lead back, but could not settle for more than five points. Jena fought for every ball and kept it up.

Even a nine-point lead (57:48) in the middle of the third quarter Alba could not hold. Too many misses and playback errors brought back Jena.

At the beginning of the last section, the Thuringians were again 64:61 ahead. But in the final phase Alba had the stronger nerves. The preliminary decision fell just three minutes from the end, as Berlin could settle on 74:66 again.
